Site Specific Theatre Event Supported By The Arts Council

Date: Fri 20th Sept  Time: From 5pm – 8.30pm
Free Event
Location: York Street, Barneys Green, Market House

On Culture Night the streets of Castleblayney will come to life as the community celebrates the life and legacy of one of the town's greatest artists, the photographer JJ Clarke.  A number of sites will be reimagined by artists, actors and everyone of all ages who cares to join in.  Old photographs of Castleblayney will come to life as people go to catch a train or trade wares in the local Market House goat auction.   No pressure, but feel free to dress up in Edwardian era clothes (optional).  Above all feel free to have a good time. Performances at Lower Commons, Barney's Green and Market House, starting every 25 minutes, so just drop along! All events free. Conceived and directed by Declan Gorman (County Monaghan Theatre-Artist-in Residence).

These events form part of the Theatre Artist in Residence programme for County Monaghan 2019 and are supported by The Arts Council, the Creative Ireland Programme, Culture Night and Monaghan County Council in partnership with Iontas Arts Centre, Back To Castleblayney festival and The Garage Theatre.
