SEEING
3rd May - 1st July
by Kate Beagan
Kate Beagan is a contemporary Irish artist with over twenty-five years of experience. Her paintings are rooted in the topography of her surrounding landscape, she captures the essence of those constantly shifting moods and the transient nature of light.
The process of painting is as important as the subject matter, the layering of the paint and the way it is worked on the canvas using various tools compels and fascinates. Each canvas is a study of a commonplace within the country’s rural hinterlands.
“Seeing” connotes being immersed in an experience - and that is the very purpose of the stage. - Broadway World
This exhibition of new work by Kate Beagan is based on a short residency with the Íontas Theatre during the Castleblayney Drama Festival in 2018.
